Paper Machine Heat Has Its Own Pattern

Paper mill bearing overheating is not the same as a general hot-running bearing case. Dryer sections add steam heat and shaft expansion. Wet-end positions add humidity, water, pulp contamination, and seal stress. The RFQ should identify the section first before treating the bearing model as the whole answer.

If a dryer roll bearing runs hot after a shutdown or replacement, mounting, clearance, grease quantity, and shaft fit deserve early attention. If overheating develops after stable operation, lubrication breakdown, contamination, seal damage, or roll alignment may be more likely.

Details That Separate This From General Overheating

For paper machines, temperature and moisture usually interact. A bearing may need clearance review because of heat, but it may also need sealing or lubrication review because of water and pulp exposure.

Send the full bearing marking if possible. Suffix details such as C3, C4, K, CA, W33, or sealed variants can affect whether the replacement request should follow the same specification or be reviewed again.

  6. grease type, relubrication interval, and grease condition
  7. humidity, water, or pulp exposure
  8. quantity, shutdown window, destination, and document needs
